Colores Humanos’ foundation rests on the trust in each individual’s wisdom and strength, and the power that is created by creating a collective group of these individuals. Through language arts and cultural exploration, youth are empowered to be health leaders in their social networks. Our annual youth-organized “HipHopOsium” reaches hundreds of youth through a combination symposium/HipHop concert addressing very real reproductive health issues within our community. Mind.
Empower urban youth through culturally relevant education/trainings on
leadership and self preservation in order to promote the restoration of
balance between the mind, body, and spirit in themselves & their communities.
Spirit. By providing the tools, resources and education we encourage youth to become positive social change agents around social justice issues. Introducing them to other community leaders assists them in fostering healthier relationships, community referrals, and the revitalization of their neighborhoods and systems.
