Nationally, teenaged Latinas have the highest rates of depression and serious suicide planning and attempts. Young Latinas have very few people and resources to help them with the issues and experiences they deal with on a daily basis.

La Voz y Corazon is our Latina adolescent suicide prevention program that connects at-risk Latinas with information, referrals, and resources, enhancing a community safety net to save the lives and dreams of our mujeres and future
leaders.

The program stresses self-empowerment through culturally relevant art and health activities. The young, brown and proud chiquitas of La Voz y Corazon create artwork to explore their own strengths and bring awareness about suicide prevention to their community.
